Abstract:

The project “Schooling Paths, Social Dynamics and Literacy Practices in Rural Context” aims at an analysis of the expectations due to the schooling path and employability of a generation of young people born between 1985 and 1988, in a parish of the Municipality of Ferreira do Zêzere. It is a comprehensive approach that aims at a relation between an analysis of expectations from an analysis of social representations about practices and strategies used in family life, and an analysis of expectations concerning school, schooling paths and future life. Simultaneously, the aim is to identify processes of causal link acting as dimensions from representations and as references which combine with the expectations. This project, following the sequence of previous works, intends to continue a diachronic line of research, in the context of the mentioned parish and placed in a timeline between 1888 and the present day, characterising the Portuguese educational specificity.
